Spring ISD Education Foundation golf tournament fundraiser teed up for Oct. 25

Spring ISD Education Foundation golf tournament fundraiser teed up for Oct. 25With safety protocols and social distancing in place, the Spring ISD Education Foundation will once again host its annual golf tournament and fundraiser. The “Tee Up for Education” event will take place at Northgate Country Club on Monday, Oct. 25.

The annual tournament is a fundraiser for the Spring ISD Education Foundation, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, which supports the Spring Independent School District and its mission of preparing students for success in college, career and life by providing a strong educational foundation. Established in 1992, the Foundation is a crucial part of providing every Spring ISD student with a quality education.

“The annual golf tournament is our biggest fundraiser for the Spring ISD Education Foundation,” Sandra Harper Scott, Foundation Executive Director, said. “Now more than ever, it’s crucial that we provide a starting point of success for our students. Participants in this tournament are directly impacting our students, helping to improve literacy, close the minority achievement gap, enhance teacher quality and enrich the experience of students and educators.”

The tournament will begin with a golf clinic at 10 a.m. followed by the official tournament start at noon. Golfers, sponsors and other guests will enjoy a post-tournament dinner, reception and awards presentation at 5:30 p.m. Contests include a Hole-in-One with a $10,000 cash prize, Longest Drive, and Closest to the Pin, as well as an onsite auction of sports memorabilia.

Since its start almost thirty years ago, the Spring ISD Education Foundation has awarded more than $1 million in innovative teacher grants and scholarships for Spring ISD students, with the annual golf tournament long-established as a community tradition. This year’s tournament is presented by longtime district partner Perdue Brandon Fielder Collins and Mott‚ LLP.
